HANNAH HAIRE BENEFIT
AUGUST 30, 2008
HOUSTON, MS
We had a great turn out this weekend for the Hannah Haire Benefit in Houston. We arrived in Houston with 23 bikes coming out of Pontotoc in our group ride so I was quite proud of their support. Hannah was on site when we got to the church that morning and was the most cheerful little girl you could ask for. She loved the motorcycles and wanted to sit on as many as she could. According to the last count at registration there was a total of 62 bikes for the ride. As with all rides some of the bikers had other events to attend so we lost a few along the way and we had one biker that had trouble right outside Columbus but all in all it was a good ride. Towards the end of the ride we stopped in Bruce (Hannah's Hometown) for a service and prayer for Hannah. As we pulled up she started asking to ride a "bicycle". After we met and had prayer, James took her for a ride around the square and you could just see her little face glow. We finished the ride up going back to the church for a spaghetti supper in Houston. Hannah and her family were there once again but the long day was beginning to take a toll on her. Dream Riders also had several members in the ride and after the supper back at the church they donated a check to Hannah for $1000. Way to go Dream Riders!! In total from the bike ride, the donation from Dream Riders and the church meal the benefit raised a total of $7800.
